I heard about a minor league team doing this peanut-free thing but never a team as big as the Twins. wowsers, is this because that kid in that movie had a peanut allergy?
Anyway, the Twins will have a peanut-free section (the skybox) during the following games:
Tuesday, July 31st v Royals - 7:10 p.m
Monday, August 20th v Mariners - 7:10 pm
Monday, September 17th v Rangers - 7:10 pm
sorry to say I missed the June date.
The Skybox is located in the lower level of right field. Tickets are $29 and may be purchased by calling 612-33-TWINS or 800-33-TWINS. Seating is limited to the first 110 fans which is what percentage of allergic kids in Minnesota, do you think?
well, if there's 300-million people in the US, and 30-million have peanut allergies, that's 1% of the US population. if I assume that the 1% is evenly distributed across the states (is it?), then that's 1% of Minnesotans, about 50,000, so .2% of peanut allergic fans in Minnesota can get into that section.
it's interesting to look at it that way but don't think I think we should have all stadiums be peanut free for 1% of the population. that's what tv broadcasts are for. and, anyway, not all allergic people are lethally allergic.
