I don't know what it feels like to be sent down to the minors with no idea of how long you will stay. Yesterday the Yankees optioned pitcher Tyler Clippard to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. *can someone confirm this please?*
I can't imagine that was the best news Tyler ever got, but I will say, and I can guess Andy Phillips (my favorite baby Yankee) will agree, there are worse places than SWB. In case this picture doesn't give it away, every PNC Field employee - from the admins to the ticket collectors to the vendors - is happy, friendly, helpful, courteous. Even the traffic cops are nice. In Tampa a cop yelled at us (for blocking traffic) when we asked directions; in SWB a cop helped us find the highway. Why is that? Better Pay? More kinds of beer available (there must be 20 kinds sold there)? Blossomin Potatoes?
Tonight the SWB Yankees play the Rochester Red Wings (triple-A Twins, yes they were born Cardinals) at 7pm.
