Remember when the Yankees were winning? When they weren't, oh, more than 10 games out. Don't make me say it, the actual number.
Anyway, back when there was a W or two every week, a young pitcher named Tyler Clippard (do you think MLB got that picture from his little league card?) beat the Mets. And while I was in a restaurant with my grandmother having linguine with white clam sauce, Tyler celebrated his first major league win with champagne and Big Macs, in a hotel room, with his parents. "McDonald's and champagne," is how he was quoted. fantastic in every way.
