Tri-City ValleyCats Food and Beverage Jobs; Apply Today!

TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats will be holding a job fair at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Saturday, May 19 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Come join the fun as the Capital Region's most exciting sports team will be hiring part-time employees for the 2007 season. The ValleyCats play 38 home games at "The Joe" this season and have a variety of game day positions to fill. Stop by the stadium on May 19th to fill out an application and learn more about the excitement of working for a Minor League Baseball team. We are offering a wide array of positions in the fields of food and beverage, stadium operations, merchandise, ticket operations, entertainment/promotions and video production. This is a great opportunity to make some money this summer and to be a part of Tri-City ValleyCats baseball. The 2007 season and 38 game home slate begins on June 23rd against the Oneonta Tigers and runs through September 7th. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and will be accepted for various openings. Following are the F&B listings. The starting wage for all positions is a minimum of $7.15 per hour, based on experience. Concession Stands Stand Managers - Working knowledge of the food industry is a must. Understanding the complete operation of a fast food environment is necessary. Working knowledge of draught, fountain and cooking systems is necessary. Ability to manage 12-15 people. Individuals must have the ability to operate cash registers and provide nightly reconciliation sheets to the Food and Beverage Manager. Will be responsible for pre-game and post-game inventory. Typically arrive 3 hours before game time. Stand Cooks - Primary function will be working with fryolator, grill and convection oven. Responsibilities will include food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen safety and sanitation. Prior cooking experience necessary. Typically arrive 2 hours before game time. Stand Cashier - Cashiers take patrons orders and are responsible for working the cash registers. Each cashier must reconcile his or her drawer at the end of each game. Each cashier will typically have a stand attendant to fulfill his or her orders. Typically arrive 1 hour before game time. Stand Attendant - Primary function would be to fill drink and food orders taken by the cashier from the patrons. Some food preparation will be required. Must be over the age of 18 to serve alcoholic beverages. Typically arrive 2 hours before game time. Luxury Suites Runners - Responsible for stocking each suite with beverages and paper goods prior to the start of each game. Also responsible for the pre-game and post-game cleaning of each suite. Typically arrive 3 hours before game time. Wait Staff - Provides service to all 10 suites, Diamond Club and media room. Wait Staff will prepare each suite for nightly activity. Wait Staff will be responsible for pre-game set-up and post-game clean up. Previous wait staff experience is a must. Must be at least 18 years old. Must provide nightly reconciliation sheets to the Food and Beverage Manager. Typically arrive 2 hours before game time. Pre-Game Picnics Picnic Cook - - Prepare chicken, hamburger, and hot dogs on an outdoor grill for all groups. Working knowledge of propane grills is a must. Ability to cook for groups of people up to 500 during a game. Presentation and aroma are a large part of the barbeque experience. Prior cooking experience is a must. Typically arrive 3 hours before game time. Picnic Server - Will present and serve the menu items for various picnics. The focus on quality and presentation is essential. Servers will help prepare and display the food for buffet style picnics. Cleaning up the designated picnic area is part of the servers responsibilities as well as any dishes used for the picnic. Typically arrive 3 hours before game time. Kiosk Operator - Will be responsible for running a portable concession unit. Responsibilities include food preparation, cooking techniques, safety and sanitation. Pre-game and post-game inventory, and will be responsible for reconciling his or her cash till at the end of each game. Beer Kiosk Operators must be at least 18 years old. Typically arrive 2-3 hours before game time. Kiosks include: • Sausage & Peppers • Chicken Wraps • Lupo’s Chicken Spiedies • Ice Cream • Hot Pretzels • Fried Dough Hawkers - Provides vending service to all fans by selling designated concession products. Must be at least 18 years old to hawk alcoholic beverages. Hawkers are paid on a commission basis, so if you're shy, don't apply! Typically arrive 1 hour before game time.
