Exiting the Water Taxi (see post below) you land on the World's Fair Marina Gas Dock where you'll find Pete's Backyard. Though Pete has passed, Joe and others keep the restaurant running. Even if you didn't arrive via boat, Pete's is a great place to grab a beer (2 for $5), or a bite before or after the game...or you can stay and listen to the radio broadcast. The outdoor deck faces the current stadium and the new contruction (see the cranes?), and the staff could not be nicer. Call for hours: 718-478-9684.

Me and three of my friends had heard about pete's from another work friend who described it as "one of the best kept secrets of new york." So clearly we had to check it out. It was all of our first Mets experience and needless to say, Petes was the best part about it. The staff was absolutly unbelievable and made us feel like part of the family. We stopped in before and after the game and honestly could have stayed there all night just hanging out with everyone. We will definitely be back as soon as we can!!
Much Love,
From HH.
