Food at Fenway (games start next week)

I have no doubt there are better photos of the cool old scoreboard at Fenway, but this is the one I've got. And you can almost see that the numbers are changed by hand, almost. Until I get a better shot, let's focus on here the 2007 Food Offerings at Fenway: SPECIALTY/ REGIONAL: Fenway Franks, Papa Gino’s pizza, Legal Sea Foods clam chowder, Dunkin Donuts hot and iced coffee, Hill Top Steak House beef and turkey tips, Cool dogs, Lobster rolls, Luis Tiant Cuban sandwich HEALTHFUL (aramark's word. why, I don't know): Chicken Caesar salads, Fruit cups, Deli wraps, Organic burgers KID-FRIENDLY: Itty Bitties (that astronautnasty small icecream stuff), Soft serve ice cream, Assorted ices PREMIUM: Lobster Roll, Pan Roasted Halibut and Maine Lobster, Smoked Salmon Lollipops, The Chocolate Monster

As a native Bostonian, I was horrified to learn a few years ago that most people around the country consider Legal's Sea Food a so-so chain restaurant. More horrifying still is the fact that these people may be right. HOWEVER--and I cannot express this clearly enough--the original Legal's restaurants in and around Boston are universally recognized as among the best seafood restaurants in the United States. We're talking about catering presidential inaugurations for decades good. Their clam chowder is especially famous. THUS, while I've never partaken of Legal's clam chowder at Fenway, I have no doubt that it is at or near the award-winning level of chowderocity evidenced by the Boston restaurants themselves. Which is to say: run, don't walk. (This, ironically, is much the same advice I would give to our beloved Manny "Being Manny" Ramirez.)
