and the winner is...
well, the winnerS Are: Yankees and Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Adv-A Braves).
actually, only my mom and I picked these two, in case my earlier post wasn't clue enough that tastes were divided.
I'll get back to the peanuts, but first I want to say: Strawberry is the favorite ice-cream flavor of Pelicans third baseman Eric Campbell. I was totally into that until I heard that his favorite 'restaurant' is Olive Garden. That's all I'm saying because it's late (or early) and because that's all there is to say.

Peanut Haters
I forgot to mention that I made a connection to Twins Peanut Hating: one of their farm teams - the double-A New Britain Rock Cats - used to have a day (or a few days) each season during which they scrubbed the ballpark and invited Peanut-Allergic fans to roam free. They didn't do it this year so it was out of my head until today. Maybe other teams do it too? anyone? anyone?
Not sure what reminded me but Who Cares? Now you know. sort of.

Peanut Tasting Follow-up
Here's my family. This picture makes me so dizzy, I love it. I do not like the upper tier at Yankee Stadium and this picture illustrates why.
Comments heard during the Great-ish Peanut Tasting:
Mom (re: Hampton Farms, the triple-A peanuts): Salty!
Dad: How much did you pay for these?
my sister's husband (re: the Indians peanuts): These are the best; they're balanced
my sister (re: Bazzini, which have the lowest sodium): I like these
TFMJ (re: every bag): They taste like peanuts
which team/product got the most votes? stay tuned. I have to go be a temp for 9 hours.

Actually, I know I did write something about them but my 'search' is not working this early am. please forgive me if (a) I already wrote or (b) forgot to write about the 2007 food items at Fifth Third Ballpark. wow. I think I'm in love with Shaq
First of all, I totally hooked on Shaq's Big Challenge, a show I did not know about until 27 minutes ago.
Second, I think I'm in love with Shaq. I don't know how much he actually had to do with the show or the program, but I don't care. Anyone who wants to fight obesity, especially in kids, is a a friend of Scoreboard Gourmet.
I haven't even seen the Tyler Florence part of this program yet.
if you're near a TV, put on ABC now and catch the second half and tell me what You think!
from the ABC website: Shaq's Big Challenge was designed to be a wake-up call — to prod us into taking action against one of our nation's most critical health issues: childhood obesity.

Yankees: Tortilla Junction v Goya
$6 nachos; $7.75 with chicken or beef. the few times I've walked by, Tortilla Junction has a little line, I can't say if they're good as I'm not really a nachos fan myself, but I did enjoy these piles of Chips in Waiting (picture).
Personally, if I was getting nachos at Yankee Stadium I would go down to the Goya concession (right field, field level). Goya's nachos are $6 and $8 for 'grande'
has anyone actually compared the two? tell me.

Sky Sports Big Question: Food, a video
I don't know any of the athletes featured on this YouTube video but believe them to be soccer/football players. Can anyone tell me who they are?
Even if you cannot, this is an entertaining little bit from Sky Sports.
I'm not quite sure if the Big Question was What is Your Perfect Meal -or- Perfect Food, but it's perfect for Scoreboard Gourmet, as you will see.

Artuso Pastry at Yankee Stadium
I'm only partially ashamed to admit that I rarely walk around Yankee Stadium to explore the food options. what can I say? I care about the game. yesterday, though, I was there early so I took my time walking from left to right field.
One of the offerings that was new to me is Artuso Pastry. funny because I had just finished 'dinner' around the corner from their 187th Street location. anyway, Artuso cookies at Yankee Stadium are $3.50.
I asked a woman behind the counter if they bake the cookies at the store and bring them to the stadium.
"We bake 'em at the store and only bring as many as we need," she said.
"How many is that?" I asked.
"I couldn't tell ya."
excellent.

Sushi Eating at Yankee Stadium
who eats sushi at a ballgame, a number of people asked? well, this girl, for one. and she's not alone.
the super friendly sushi guys at Yankee Stadium told me they sell about 100 rolls/game. California is their most popular roll, so we're clearly talking about the world's least worldly palates. but so what? branching out is fantastic. All rolls - CA, Spicy Tuna, Tuna-Avocado, Salmon-Avocado - are $9.75. Edamame and Seaweed Salad (green) are $6. Sushi platters have 9 pieces and cost $14. Sashimi platters cost the same but have 9 pieces.
So...have You had sushi at the game?
